February 2018 Anthology: Reads, Recipes and Road Trips

February Anthology: Recipes, Roadtrips and Reads

Well after two weeks on the road, we’re heading home. It’s been a few days full of snowy roads, endless rounds of the Sing soundtrack and a lot of internet reading of recipes and travel pieces.

Family figured largely on this epic road trip. We spent time with my dad’s side of the family at Silverstar Mountain where I skipped snowboard adventures for mega neice cuddles (insert small people dance parties) and hot tub soaks. To say it was relaxing would be an understatement.

Along the way, I plundered the internet (because I had time on our EPIC long driving stints) for some GREAT reads, recipes, and fellow travel tales. Warning: this could make you want to eat, travel and relax simultaneously.

Soooo, Tijuana has had a bad rap recently but thanks this account of her weekend foot-powered feasting trip, I want to go STAT.

Earlier this year I waded into the world of the Wild Rose Dtox. It was torturous but awesome (#hungry all the time). Blog post coming soon… In the meantime, this recipe for Wild Rose-friendly Tahini dressing has been on repeat, sub almond milk.

Oracle Cards are perfect for pulling on long road trips.

Another rad thing about holidays: the time to stop and pull my Keepers of the Light Oracle cards by Lily Moses and Kyle Gray.

If you’re ever in the Kootenays be sure to check out their rad craft brew scene: Rossland Beer Company and Backroads Brewing are all worth a stop. Not a boozer? Torchlight Brewing makes a range of alchohol free sodas – try the Several Up, a botanical mix of citrusy goodness.

A small treatise on PB brownies and toxic relationships from Amy over at HomeyOhMy – YES!

Darjeeling Unlimited: Globe Guide takes India’s luxury train Palace on Wheels. Swoon.

Currently obsessed with Cucumber, Lime, Basil Margaritas. I had a mocktail at Catina in Nelson, BC recently and now want to make this version from Not Without Salt at home.

Lastly, I continue to make progress on my 18 for 2018. Wrote a few letters on our road trip and am on track to finish book number two for the year. Yay progress!

What are you reading on the interwebs these days?
