Travel is a lot like exercise. At first it might seem like a hassle or a pain. Like a lot of things that are good for you, travelling requires an investment, some planning, sometimes even new shoes (no complaints here, thanks).

You might put off organizing that trip like you procrastinate exercise. But then once you start and you’re in the thick of your journey, it’s great. As in great like waking up on a Sunday morning after 10 hours of sleep. Or like running that 5 kilometres for the first time without pain.

The endorphins are going. Your muscles (the ones that propel you or the ones in your head) might feel tight or exhausted or out-of-shape.

But it’s all worth it.

And it is.

No matter how hot, how cold, how far or how near, how expensive or thrifty. Taking that trip is like starting a run or yoga class. A little difficult at the outset but it feels amazing at the end. And you never regret that trip, that adventure, that weekend, that amazing time spent with people you love getting lost, getting sweaty or just getting somewhere with.

Travel is like exercise for your soul. So don’t put that next journey off, your soul will thank you for it.
