Travel Story Reflection & Upcycle ~ Yukon & Edmonton

Did you know that there are only two Renaissance Hotels in Canada? Toronto and Edmonton. I got to stay at the 'Curios Arctic' themed hotel for an artful weekend staycation. DI-VINE (and sparkly & reflective at every turn).
Did you know that there are only two Renaissance Hotels in Canada? Toronto and Edmonton. I stayed at the ‘Curios Arctic’ themed hotel Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel for an artful weekend staycation. It was divine (and sparkly & reflective at every turn).

Cray busy this week with the day job, kid, garden and life. So I present to you: two stories I wrote for other publications. One is a Yukon roadtrip story (one of my ultimate, favourite, best ways to travel) and the other a tale of a birthday weekend staycation full of art (and time with a bestie and macarons and wine).

One of the best parts about travel writing is the reflection process: dig up those old notes, journals, text messages, FB albums. Once you’re done remembering and reflecting, you compose a story. Lather it up with some research, maybe an interview and some great photos, et voila you have a travel article.

Where did you go last? If you wrote a story about your favourite trip, what publication would you love to see it in? Tell me in the comments below. Happy reflecting!

So hard to think about my favourite trip. Many of them happened before we had digital cameras, so I’m super bummed I can’t blog about. I mean, I could, I just think scanning doesn’t entice the reader as much. So jealous you’ve been to the Yukon!
